MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the New Horizons Youth Service Bureau is to improve physical and emotional well-being of the children, youth and families of the Florida Parishes, and to increase the capacity of families to effectively care for their children.

Five programs are offered at the Youth Service Bureau.

Each program is designed to help children and families overcome difficult situations, and offers one or more of the following services:

    • Individual and Family Counseling
    • Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment
    • Crisis Intervention
    • Family Preservation
    • Employee Assistance Counseling
    • Corporate Drug Screening
    • Private Drug Screening
    • Case Management
    • Parenting Education
    • In-Home Family Therapy
    • Multisystemic Therapy
    • Child and Adolescent Behavior Therapy

Goals of the Youth Service Bureau:

To serve as a resource center for children, youth and families, to furnish referrals and intervention services in the Florida Parishes, and to provide services through direct contact with youth and families

To advocate the causes and concerns of children, youth and families

To help families remain together by promoting unity and independence of the family in problem-solving, and to support the family as the primary caretaker of their children

To help children and youth remain in their homes, if possible, or to return to their homes at the earliest feasible date, so they can continue to thrive and grow into productive citizens

”A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove---but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child.”       --Unknown
